How I will spend my NYE 2008 (2009?)

I never know whether you call it New Years Eve of your current year or the year it will become. Oh well. So, there's always a lot of hub bub over New Years Eve plans. Where to go. What to wear. Who to go with. What you're willing to spend. Who will drive?

Well I always say screw trying to answer all those questions, there is a really easy solution to them all--stay home. At least that's what I enjoy doing, what I will be doing. I have no desire to figure out which party or concert I want to spend 5x the normal price to attend. I have no interest in spending more money I don't have on a fancy outfit just to get drunk and sloppy in. Frankly, I barely have a desire to even stay up until midnight--nevermind the fact I have a terrible time doing that as it is--since becoming a granny and all.

Of course, part of the reason is that I have a nice boyfriend and a nice little dog to stay home with. I take extreme joy in the fact that while everyone else will be stressing out about how best to avoid getting a DUI and what remedies to use to nurse their hangovers the following afternoon, I will be having a relaxing stress-free night at home in my pj's, with a nice meal of pizza and beer in the comfort of my cop-free home.

The bigger question is how I am going to spend the entire day, you know, before all the new laws and regulations kick in. In California, on January 1st, drivers can no longer text message while driving--something I know WE ALL have been guilty of at one time or another. Thanks, though, to the awesome advertisements up and down the highways in California announcing that as of January 1 no text messaging while driving (nevermind not doing it now)--I got a brilliant idea for my NYE plans.

Recently I've been trying to be good, limiting my text-messaging-while-driving to stop lights and really slow traffic. Tomorrow, I will go all out, texting on the freeway while applying my make up, taking photos of the world and sending them to my nearest and dearest friends and family, all while speeding down Highway 17 on the way into work. I might even go over to Valley Fair during lunch so I can text all up and down the parking garages--not to mention mass texting on the Steven's Creek/880 exit--talk about a goldmine.

Lookout neighbors and commuters, cuz I will be texting all up in this bitch!

Signed, I heart texting-while-driving.
